THE KEY OF LIFE - ANKH The Ankh has come to symbolize life and immortality, the universe, power and life-giving air and water. An Ankh serves as an antenna or conduit for the divine power of life that permeates the universe. Also, its power provide the wearer with protection from the evil forces of decay and degeneration. The Ankh resembles a key and is considered the key to eternal life after death or the key to unlock the gates of death. The loop of the Ankh is held by the Gods and Goddesses. It is associated with Isis(Aset) and Osiris(Asar) in the Early Dynastic Period. The loop of the Ankh also represent the feminine discipline or the (womb), while the elongated section represent the masculine discipline or the (penis).
